Welcome Afternoon

This is an open afternoon for all ages of people who want to share time together. It includes tea and chat and other activities.

Knitting Circle

LORNA stands for Lonely OR Now Alone

Members meet on Wednesday afternoons at 2.30pm in the Church Centre for tea and a chat. It is followed by Evening Service at 4pm. This is a very sociable group and newcomers are always welcome.

Knitting Circle

The Circle of Friendship Knitting Group meets every Wednesday afternoon between 2 and 4 pm in the Link Room, that is the carpeted area in the church centre.  It is for anyone interested in making blankets and other knitted or crocheted items to give to those less fortunate than ourselves, but it has to be said that most of those who come are quite elderly now.  People are also encouraged to come along who are adept at sewing the squares together. Tea and biscuits are provided during the afternoon and occasional parties are held during the year.

The whole purpose of the group is to knit and crochet 6 inch squares to be sewn together to make blankets with crocheted edges. Children's' jumpers, gloves and hats are also made.  All goods are despatched overseas via the charity Feed the Children.  They are distributed mainly to children in need in disaster areas.

It is to be noted that the group closes for four weeks every August and for the Christmas week each year.  For more details or enquiries about this activity please contact Rev Louise here.
