The Resource Centre intends to: -

encouragement.

learn about Christian ceremonies.

o     Provide personnel to go into schools to take assemblies, RE Roadshows and RE lessons, and give

on-site presentations as required.

o     Run seminars where local teachers of RE will be able to meet together, and learn from visiting

speakers.

o    Offer resource material on loan

RE Roadshow

The News - This was a new venture for 2010.

Five of our local First schools have been invited to take up the opportunity of having the Roadshow team come into their schools and take a day of cross-curricular Religious Education. All have accepted and have asked to work with our team. This maximizes the staff: pupil ratio for the day and means that groups are rarely larger than 8 children to an adult. The first three were highly acclaimed. The children had a good day filled with fun and a wide variety in activities. The staff enjoyed a reduction in pressure and a chance to spend more time with individuals. The Roadshow team all enjoyed the chance to spend time taking to the children about their faith in a highly structured and non-pressurized day.

From the advertising leaflet: The Roadshow is a new venture for 2010 for the RE Resource Centre which has served the schools in the parishes of Dedworth and Clewer for eight years. It builds upon the successful exhibition held at St Agnes Music and Faith Centre in St Leonard’s Road in June 2009, by offering to work with our schools, in our schools in bringing the Bible to life.

Each of the suggested Roadshows offers different activities and experiences, and opportunities for pupils to encounter religion through visitors to the school. The Rose Report encourages schools to be flexible in planning their curriculum to meet the national entitlement and yet to adapt it according to their local circumstances and resources. Our careful planning ties each of the Roadshows to the Attainment Targets in the SACRE Agreed Syllabus.

Roadshows offered in this series: -

· Consider the lilies of the field

· Jesus at the door

· Mary washes Jesus’ feet

· Feeding 5000

· The wedding at Cana

· Jesus heals by touch
