St Agnes Fountain

St Agnes' Fountain Music and Faith Centre was established in 2009 with the aim of providing the local community with a valuable performance space and
teaching facility. Housed in a beautiful Victorian church in the Spital district of Windsor, St Agnes' Fountain offers the following:

Free musical training on a variety of different instruments to local residents irrespective of age or ability.

The 7:32 Concert Series which aims to give regular performances in our main concert space.

Opportunities for group and ensemble music-making as well as workshops and lectures.

The centre also provides music for services at All Saints' Church, Dedworth and St. Andrew's Church, Clewer.

Making Music

There  are many opportunities to make and partake in music at All Saints'.

In the services the range of music is wide but tends to be more traditional and led by the organ at 9.15 am Sunday and midweek services, while the 11am family service on Sundays is led by a variety of instruments ( keyboard, guitars, drums etc. but open to new instrumentalists!) and often more modern songs are sung.

Guitar lessons, group or individual,  are also available by arrangement.

Musical instruments

If you have any musical instruments that you are no longer using stored in your loft, Sue Morgan will be pleased to have them for St. Agnes Fountain.

The  COMMUNITY  CHOIR   go from strength to strength. They enjoy both the social and the musical aspects of their weekly rehearsals and have often been seen out and about around the parish singing at the garden centre, at one of the schools or helping out in church.

A significant number of youngsters are learning to play the guitar, thanks in part to the generous gift of instruments which were recently donated to the music centre. This is good news as these young players will become the backing band for the Sunday family services in the course of time.

A different set of instrumentalists will be starting work shortly. This is part of a very exciting new project to create a brand new orchestra for children in the 7 - 12 age bracket. This is an unusual project in that we intend to take a group of complete beginners and teach them to play the stringed instruments of the violin family. \fort this we are looking for a group of children who are willing to come to our music centre for an hour after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays every week. We will teach them the violin, viola, cello or double bass and they will work together as an orchestra from the outset. The instruments will be kept at the music centre and the children will do their practice there. They will not be taking them home. N.B. There is no charge for this activity. PLEASE MAKE CONTACT WITH SUE MORGAN a.s.a.p. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED ON BEING IN ON THIS FROM THE START.

Now that we have finally moved into our long awaited music centre our very own Senior Girls Choir, now aptly renamed "The Fountain Singers" will give the musical lead at some services as well as going out into the community to sing. Before their rehearsal on Friday nights there is a guitar group and a  handbell ringing team which alternate from week to week. Handbell ringing is always popular, particularly as Christmas approaches. Friday evening is for young people aged 12 - 18 years.

We are always pleased to see new people who are interested in joining our groups. Please come along or contact Sue Morgan on 07752 479624. A schedule of times below will help you with your arrangements:

Monday 16.00 - 17.00 All Saints Church, Dedworth Singing and craft for children aged 6 - 11. This is the group for people who want to be in the musicals
